On Sunday 7th March International Women's Day became the first ever public event to be hosted at Station Plaza. Around 800 families came along to enjoy the new space, browse information stalls, watch performances from local children and enjoy refreshments from the coffee shop.
The event was hosted by HIO (Hastings Intercultural Organisation), to celebrate the achievements of women around the world and a cosmopolitan atmosphere prevailed, with traditional costume and dance featuring throughout the day. Other activities on offer included henna painting and sari tying. Shiva Serati, who runs International Women's Day said 'Great acts and great venue. I'm really over the moon'.
