This course will provide you with the opportunity to understand and gain the skills required for a career in the travel and tourism industry. It will also support your application to further your opportunities by progressing to university or possibly taking the option to stay another year and specialise in a cabin crew course.

What will I study?

You will study a combination of units, which will cover a range of subjects such as Organising events, business travel, cruising, leadership skills, tour guiding, worldwide travel and tourism destinations and other travel related subjects. Assessment is varied where you will take on line examinations and written papers and lots of practical tasks too which adds fun and value to your studies plus meets the needs of all students with regards to assessment.

We have excellent facilities to support your learning and all the travel team are all industry skilled professionals so you will receive first class current industry knowledge.

The City and Guilds qualification is recognised by the industry and will enhance your prospects of gaining a career in travel and tourism or progressing onto university.

What do I need?

You will need 4 GCSE grades c or above including maths and English or a relevant level 2 Qualification.

Please note that a full uniform is required for this course and you will be expected to represent the college on any events that may occur during the academic year.

Progression

Successful students can progress to a level 3 programme or gain employment in the travel and tourism industry.
