The sport and leisure industry is experiencing an explosion of interest, thanks to the London 2012 Olympics, with direct opportunities in training, coaching and leadership. The level 1 BTEC Diploma in Sport & Active Leisure introduces the sports industry while giving you an understanding of healthy lifestyle, the importance of participation in sport and active leisure, how the active body works, and developing your customer service skills. As well as putting your learning into practice in our leading-edge gym and at the Horntye Park Sports Complex, you’ll benefit from links with sports and leisure businesses to get a better understanding of the sector through visits, observations, interviews, guest speakers and work shadowing.

What do I need?

A mixture of GSCEs grades E to G. Satisfactory completion of your existing studies.

How will I be assessed?

Through a range of practical and coursework assignments.

Ten different units spanning a range of sport and active leisure disciplines.
