Our behaviour and the opportunities that arise in our lives are shaped by the groups we find ourselves in – determined by social influences, class, age, gender or ethnicity. If you want to scratch beneath the surface and examine how groups in society act and interact, our A level Sociology course will enable you to explore the social world, looking at contemporary social processes and changes. The range of topics studied includes families and households, health, mass media, education, wealth, poverty and welfare, work and leisure, sociological methods, power and politics, religion, and crime and deviance.
