The study of chemistry is driven by the desire to explain the behaviour of the materials around us. To comprehend why an autumn leaf turns red, why a diamond is hard or why soap gets us clean requires an understanding of chemistry. Our A level Chemistry course is designed to develop your understanding of how the science works in the laboratory and in the world outside. You will learn how the behaviour of atoms and molecules determines the world we live in, our shape and size, and even how we feel on a given day. You’ll explore how chemistry has unlocked the doors to some of the most practical inventions and exciting scientific advances in the modern world. And you’ll develop a detailed understanding of a discipline that will remain at the forefront of scientific development.
