Spanish is one of the most widely spoken languages, with more than 440 million speakers throughout the world. Even if you’re not planning a career focused on languages but want to keep your options open to travel or work abroad in the future, you will thank yourself for studying Spanish. Our varied and enjoyable A level course will improve the listening, reading, writing and speaking skills you have gained at GCSE.  It is topic based which will enable you get an insight into Spanish and Latin American culture through topics such as the media, healthy living and lifestyle, family and relationships, environment, the multi-cultural society and contemporary social issues. At the end of the course you will be well prepared to use the language for practical communication and to continue your studies at a higher level.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed throughout the course and given continual feedback and support.  There are  assesments  on all four skills (writing, reading, listening and speaking) that are examined at the end of the year.

What will I learn?

Develop the knowledge and skills acquired at GCSE level and use the language learned in a wide range of contexts.

What are my career opportunities?

There are multiple opportunities and the careers are not limited to language  or linguistic degrees. Options include to study business, journalism and media.
