What will I learn?
This course is perfect if you would like to learn more about catering and counter service.
This one year course will give you the skills and competencies you need to understand and practice completing contract style catering.
During the course you will cover topics including:
- Basic food preparation and cooking
- Food safety
- Counter service
Assessment is recorded by synoptic testing, written papers and project work throughout the duration of the course.
What could I progress on to?
The course prepares you for further study at level 3, at which you can learn management and supervisory skills or advanced cookery techniques.
With some additional training you can work in a number of specialist areas including:
- Contract catering welfare
- Contract catering industrial
- Contract catering educational
