VRQ1 in Catering and Hospitality

PDF

Course code: 3717
Course type: Full time
Duration: 1 year
Level: 1
Site: Station Plaza
Start date: September 2012

The catering industry is full of employment opportunities, and there is currently a shortage of qualified caterers in the UK. So if you have a flair for food and enjoy providing a quality service, a catering career could be for you. The VRQ1 in Hospitality & Catering combines two qualifications – VRQ1 in Food Processing & Cooking and VRQ1 in Food & Beverage Service – as well as certificates in food safety. These level 1 courses provide an ideal introduction to food and drink preparation and service, and learners are given every opportunity to examine career paths and explore further training options. Learning is very hands-on: we have impressive kitchen facilities on site as well as our popular restaurant, which is frequently fully booked by members of staff and the public.

What do I need?

One grade D in English or Maths and a mixture of grades E to G.

How will I be assessed?
