The make-up industry continues to expand and diversify. Employment opportunities are usually on a self-employed basis and may include photographic make-up for fashion and the media industries, creating a look for special occassions, supporting photographers and working for make-up product companies. This course provides a nationally recognised qualification, industry professionals will teach you advanced techniques in make-up for media, fashion, photgraphic, camouflage, body art and airbrush make-up.You will build a portfolio of work and will attend national make-up shows and enter competitioins to showcase your work.

What do I need?

GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above including, a mixture of GCSE grades E to G, or an NVQ2 in Beauty Therapy. Satisfactory completion of your existing studies.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment methods include: practical application, project, reports and exams.

What will I learn?

You will learn health & safety, application of make-up, instruction on make-up, media make-up, fashion & photopraphic, camouflage, body art and air brush make-up.

What are my career opportunities?

Make-up artists are usually self employed and work for photographic industry, fashion and the media industries, creating a look for special occassions and working for make-up product companies.

Further Study?

Students who successfully achieve can progress to the HND Hair & Beauty.

Are there any extra costs?

Uniform (approx. £60) and kit (approx. £110) are required for this course. Course fees and registration may be applicable for students over 19. Plus £40 for trips & visits.
