If you take pleasure in your appearance and wellbeing and enjoy bringing that gift to others, this could be perfect course for you. Beauty Therapy (General) VRQ Level 3 will build on the skills you learned at Beauty Therapy NVQ2 adding advanced face and body treatments, mechanical and electrical treatments, dietary control, body massage and spray tanning. All learning is hands-on, and you will develop excellent customer skills and supervisory skills in our well-equipped salon and hydrotherapy suite. You will visit professional beauty and spa trade shows to discover new and innovative treatments and products, and you’ll be given the opportunity to showcase your skills in our 30th Hair & beauty Awards evening, and enter regional and national competitions.

What do I need?

GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above, a mixture of GCSE grades E to G or an NVQ2 in Beauty Therapy. Satisfactory completion of your existing studies.

How will I be assessed?

Practical assessments are carried out on paying clients in our commercial workshops. Essential knowledge is covered through project research, case studies and written assessments.

What will I learn?

Indian head massages, specialised electrical and mechanical facial and body treatments including micro current and micro dermabrasion, electrolysis and massage. Anatomy and physiology is covered in depth.

What are my career opportunities?

The majority of our students go straight into a career in the beauty industry, working as a beauty therapists in spas, salons, cruise liners, professional trade representatives, self-employed or mobile therapists.

Further Study?

Progression to HND level 4 Hair & Beauty Management, specialising in spa management.

Are there any extra costs?

Uniform (approx. £60) and kit (approx. £110) are required for this course. Course fees and registration may be applicable for students over 19.Plus £40 for trips & visits.
