A personalised learning programme for young people (16-25) who have severe learning difficulties and/or disabilities, and would like to develop greater independence and employability skills. The teaching, learning and support is provided by specialist staff and is highly structured, with clear ownership of space and access to a range of environments. Our provision has Autism Accreditation status from the National Autistic Society recognising our specialism in working with learners with Autistic Spectrum conditions.Teaching and learning strategies follow the principles of  TEACCH, and can be communicated through PECS and Makaton. Our excellent facilities are a huge benefit – including enabling technology such as task prompters, and meaningful settings such as a real-life home skills area where learners can practice their domestic skills and master the use of household appliances. Resources include safe haven, chill out zone, low arousal environment, sensory room, creative arts and employability skills environment.

What do I need?

A willingness to fulfill obligations regarding attendance and behaviour and a readiness to learn.

How will I be assessed?

Credit-based learning is assessed through course work and portfolios of evidence. You will have support to achieve.

What will I learn?

Skills to build confidence to achieve greater indepence and/or emplyability skills.

What are my career opportunities?

You may want to progress to further vocational learning or progress to supported employment and/or independent living.

Further Study?

Supported Education will open the doors for further vocational study in a range of subject areas.

Are there any extra costs?
