This level 2 course is an ideal entry point into the vastly rewarding world of the professional engineer. The course is a 50/50 mix of practical and theory, giving the learner a taste of what it takes to be an engineer in the 21st century. You will develop a range of practical skills backed up by lessons in useable engineering, maths and science, computer-aided design and numerical control. The qualifications form a large part of the apprenticeship framework at level 2, making learners ideal candidates to be picked up by the many companies seeking suitable apprentice applicants. Many of our learners go on to varied and exciting jobs in the engineering field.

What do I need?

Two grade Ds in English and Maths and two grade Es at GCSE or relevant level 1 qualification. Satisfactory completion of your existing studies.

How will I be assessed?

Ongoing assessment of practical activities, backed up by a portfolio of evidence.

What will I learn?

A range of practical skills backed up by lessons in useable engineering, computer-aided design, and numerical control.

Career opportunities are vast. Every year our learners put to good use and develop their skills in apprenticeships with local companies.

Further Study?

Successful learners wishing to further their studies can enrol on the level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering.
