This level 2 qualification covers the technical needs for today’s motor vehicle repair industry, including the diagnosis of non-complex system faults. The course provides essential knowledge for service technicians working on light vehicles (cars and vans) in all types of garages, dealerships and maintenance depots. Students also gain a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety in the workplace and other skills associated with working in a garage.

What do I need?

Level 1 qualification in Motor Vehicle studies or relevant exeprience.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by a series of short computer-based tests and practical assessments.

What will I learn?

You will extend your existing knowledge to cover vehicle maintenance and repair in more detail.

What are my career opportunities?

An advanced apprenticeship or a starting position as a vehicle technician.

Further Study?

Succesful completion and interview will enable you to progress to level 3.
