Duration: 1 year

Engineers are responsible for the design and manufacture of anything and everything, and the engineering sector is packed with opportunity right now. A career in engineering could see you designing Formula 1 gearboxes, prosthetic limbs or the micro-technology inside tomorrow’s wonder-product. The UK leads the world in engineering design, so it’s a great time to get on board.

The BTEC Level2 Diploma in Engineering has been designed in consultation with the industry, so you can be confident it will give you the skills and experience to succeed. You’ll be learning about developing, designing and making things from the people who know, as well as solving practical problems.

Your course will give you an introduction to basic engineering principles such as Science, Materials, Math's, CNC and CAD; and a look at what makes innovations succeed, how new materials contribute to design and new ideas.

You'll also learn how to use Lathes and Milling machines, whilst gaining an additional NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations. The course will make sure your English, Maths and ICT skills are up to scratch for the next step.

This course forms a major part of the Apprenticeship in Engineering and will therefore give learners a head start for a career in Engineering.
