The level 3 City & Guilds Diploma in Plumbing Studies will bring you up to the status of fully qualified plumber and includes gas safety and installation. The course builds on the key practical skills and theory you learned at level 2, covering areas such as systems planning, complex cold water systems, complex sanitation systems, central heating systems and domestic gas supply systems, customer care and business activities. This excellent course takes advantage of our fantastic new realistic working environment where you will experience the latest sustainable developments within the College. You will get to work on an actual building and see how plumbing combines together with other construction trades, giving you a flavour of your future workplace.

What do I need?

Five GCSEs at grade C or above including English and Maths or an appropriate level 2 qualification. Satisfactory completion of your existing studies.

How will I be assessed?

The learner will be assessed by their theoretical knowledge with ten on-line exams, and on practical elements in the workshop.

What will I learn?

A range of units from advanced cold eater theory systems to complex gas.

What are my career opportunities?

Successful candidates are able to enter the work place as fully qualified plumbers or could develop these skills further such that they are able to work with emerging environmental technologies including photovoltaic, solar, wind and heat source pumps.

Further Study?

A work-based qualification such as an NVQ or advanced apprenticeship. A degree or HNC at level 4 is also possible.

Are there any extra costs?

A range of specified PPE and other items, costing approximately £125, will be required for this course.
