The Foundation Diploma in Construction will give you an excellent introduction to the construction industry. It provides an insight into the specific job roles and skills of those employed in the sector and how they work together with the use of drawings and other technical information. You will also gain an understanding of Health and Safety, design and planning, and valuation and costing. About 20% of the course is practical, offering the chance to gain basic skills in Brickwork, Carpentry, Electrical Installation and Painting and Decorating.
If you’re considering a professional career in Construction, such as Surveying or Architecture, the Foundation Diploma offers a perfect place to start. It will also give you a broad grounding in practical skills so if you want a hands-on career, you can keep your options open before moving on to an Apprenticeship or Level 2 training in a particular trade. The Diploma ensures you have the right standard of English, Maths and ICT to help you in the workplace.
