A good plumber will always have work. If you are looking for a rewarding career in construction and would like the opportunity in the future to run your own business, the level 2 Certificate in Basic Plumbing Studies will equip you with the basic skills and qualifications for employment, and successful completion can lead to progression to the more advanced level 3 training. The course focuses on key practical skills and theory, covering areas such as hot and cold water systems, bathroom and heating installation (not including gas-fitting), health and safety and theory relating to electrical supply installation. The course takes advantage of our realistic working environment, so you will work on an actual building and see how plumbing combines with other construction trades, giving you a flavour of your future workplace.

What do I need?

Grade C in English and Maths and a mixture of grade Ds and Es or relevant Level 1 qualification.

How will I be assessed?

The learner will be assessed by their theoretical knowledge with twelve on-line exams, and on practical elements in the workshop.

What will I learn?

A range of units from cold water theory systems to drainage systems.

What are my career opportunities?

Successful students continue their studies to develop further skills including gas installation, or progress in to employment and pursue work-based qualifications through an apprenticeship scheme.
