Who is it for?

Apprentices working with children or young people, in any childcare establishment such as schools, nurseries and playgroups.

What will I study?

The development of a child from birth to 19 years How to care for and support the development of a child or young person. Observation, assessment and planning. Health, safety and child protection, including legislation and regulations.

How is work assessed?

Your work will be assessed through observation in the setting and by building a portfolio of evidence.

What can it lead to?

A level-3 supervisory role and then on to possible higher education.

How do I get onto the course /entry requirements?

Interview required for admission onto the course, plus confirmation of employment.
