The BTEC level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care allows you to explore different roles in health and social care while acquiring practical skills and knowledge. You will look at important aspects across the sector, such as communication, individual rights and needs, and ensuring safe environments. You will also study optional topics from a range including cultural diversity, anatomy and physiology, lifespan, creative and therapeutic activities, and the impact of diet. To give you the opportunity to experience health and social care at close range, the course includes plenty of visits as well as guest speakers. Most importantly, it also includes a work placement, for which you’ll need a CRB check – and we can help set this up for you.

What do I need?

Grade C in English and Maths and a mixture of grade Ds and Es or relevant Level 1 qualification.

How will I be assessed?

All assessment will be made through coursework, displays, role-plays and direct observation of activities in placement.

What will I learn?

How to work in a Health and Social Care team and to care for and communicate with service users appropriately.

What are my career opportunities?

Advanced Apprenticeship in Health & Social Care or into work as a care assistant.
