The UK media industry is a world leader, and a creative career in the sector could involve TV, music, radio or film production or even designing computer games. The BTEC First Diploma in Media introduces the range of job roles within the industry, and the ways in which media products are influenced by their audiences. The course is broadly equivalent to four GCSEs and will help you make a career choice as you explore a wide range of skills. Project work includes industry briefs and involves an in-depth study of four topic areas including audio, video, print, advertising, interactive media and digital graphics. The course includes opportunities for work experience to get you using your skills in a commercial context, and you will benefit from being taught by professionals with first-hand knowledge of the industry.

What do I need?

A mixture of GSCEs grades Ds and Es or relevant Level 1 qualification.
A portfolio of recent artwork is also required for interview.

How will I be assessed?

Your work will be assessed continuously throughout the course, covering various units of study.
