The UK is bursting with creativity and the BTEC Level 2 First Diploma in Art and Design is an ideal introduction to the creative world. The course is broadly equivalent to four GCSEs, and is geared towards helping you make an informed career choice while gaining inspiration and developing skills in a wide range of disciplines. Practical areas of study include drawing, painting, print-making, modelling, sculpture and casting, with further unit options in photography, fashion design, 2D visual arts & 3D craft or digital art. You will develop your own portfolio, which will be shown at the end of the year in our Diploma exhibition, and will be taught by creative professionals with first-hand industry knowledge, while gaining experience of creative organisations through talks and visits.

What do I need?

A mixture of GSCEs grades Ds and Es or relevant Level 1 qualification.
A portfolio of recent artwork is also required for interview.

How will I be assessed?

You will receive regular assessments from your tutors with feedback on your progress.

What will I learn?

You will learn through a variety of practical and theoretical workshops.

Progression on to a  level 3 course which can lead to a career in the creative industries.

Further Study?
