If you have creative talent, your skills could take you in one of several directions – from animation to advertising, set design to textiles, and fashion to film directing. Equivalent to three A levels, the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Art and Design allows you to develop your interests and strengths across a broad range of studio and workshop activities, supported by practising artists, designers, makers and illustrators. The course helps you develop skills and ideas through historical and cultural studies, including visits to galleries, museums and creative events, and gives you the option to specialise in a specific area, whether it’s film and animation, fine art, graphic design, illustration or design. At the end of the second year you will carry out a major design project and mount an exhibition that will form part of the end-of-year show.
