A thorough introduction to the subject of graphic communication. Candidates are expected to produce practical and critical/contextual work in one or more areas including illustration, advertising, packaging design, design for print, communication graphics, computer graphics, multimedia, animation, web design, film, television and/or video. You will develop an understanding of the principles of graphic communication and its impact and relevance to our culture and industry, plus practical skills in editing, image manipulation, digital and traditional drawing and illustration techniques. Candidates will gain vital skills in developing their ideas, experimenting with relevant materials, techniques and processes, and presenting a personal, informed and meaningful response to subject briefs.
