Level 3
As an Apprentice, you’ll work as an electrotechnical operative, specialising in one of four areas. You could learn how to build control panels for lighting, heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems or you could focus on fi nding faults and fi xing them in a range of machinery or on the installation and maintenance of manufacturing systems or you could learn to test and service a range of electromechanical equipment. Because this is an Advanced Apprenticeship, Apprentices will be expected to have strong practical skills and advanced abilities. You’ll need to be able to follow technical drawings and understand health and safety regulations.
What will I gain?
A nationally recognised qualifi cation in your chosen career. (To include NVQ Level 2 & 3, Technical Cert Level 3, Key Skills Communication & AON Level 2 & ICT Level 1, ERR and AM2).
Who is it for?
An Apprentice working as an Electro-Technical operative.
What will I study?
You will tend to specialise in fi elds such as; panel building, motor repair, instrumentation, or maintenance. Along with reading technical drawings, safety rules & regulations.
How is work assessed?
You will attend college one day a week and your work will be assessed through observation and by building a portfolio of evidence.
What can it lead to?
You will be able to use your specialist skills to work on a wide range of projects, or even run your own business.
How do I get onto the course?
Interview required for admission onto the course, plus confi rmation of full-time employment.
