This Apprenticeship covers a wide range of job roles in the health care and social care fi elds. The NHS, private sector, local authorities and the armed forces all employ Apprentices.

Level 2

As an Apprentice in Health Care, you could work in hospitals, the community, doctors’ surgeries, hospices, private clinics or opticians. You could be supporting doctors or nurses in clinical roles or helping patients in hospital wards or their homes – serving food, making and changing beds and so on. There are 21 separate qualifi cations available within the Health Care Apprenticeship ranging from maternity to radiotherapy support.

Level 3

Completion of the Advanced Apprenticeship will stand you in good stead for progression onto Higher Education in subjects like nursing or midwifery and operating department practitioner roles in the care sector or management roles in Care homes.

What will I gain?
A nationally recognised qualifi cation in your chosen career. (To include NVQ L2, Technical Cert, Key Skills @ L1 & ERR, CRB).

Who is it for?
For anyone working in an environment with people who have an assessed need (disabled, elderly, within an environment such in a person’s home, hospital, clinic, hospice etc).

What will I study?
You will have the opportunity to choose from a broad range of specialisms. Interpersonal skills, communication skills and being a good listener are essential.

How is work assessed?
Your work will be assessed through observation and by building a portfolio of evidence.

What can it lead to?
Successful completion can lead to Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship.

How do I get onto the course?
Interview required for admission onto the course, plus confi rmation of full-time employment. (CRB Check will be required for this course).
