There’s more to cleaning than most people realise – cleaning staff can sometimes work at crime and accident scenes, or for the National Health Service ensuring cleanliness of hospital wards, waiting rooms and offices. They might even take charge of a large-scale clean-up, like on a festival site.

As an Apprentice, you’ll learn a range of cleaning techniques and skills including health and safety; working effectively with customers and others; and communication skills. Depending on your employer, you might learn how to clean food areas, confi ned areas, high-risk areas or the inside of passenger transport vehicles.

What will I gain?
A nationally recognised qualifi cation in your chosen career. To include NVQ and Tech Cert @ Level 2 Key Skills/Functional Skills at Level 1 and the ERR.

Who is it for?
For someone who is employed in the cleaning industry and who wishes to gain experience in this sector.

What will I study?
You will learn about a range of cleaning techniques and dealing with various cleaning materials.

How is work assessed?
You may attend college one day per week and your work will be assessed through observation and by building a portfolio of evidence.

What can it lead to?
A nationally recognised qualifi cation.

Interview required for admission onto the course, plus confirmation of full-time employment.
