Level 2

Job roles in accountancy vary. Depending on whether they’re keeping track of an individual’s or a global corporation’s fi nances, there are several things that accountants can do to help their clients’ businesses. This variety often makes it an attractive profession to pursue. You could work in any industry, and apply your skills to any type of business – from large public sector companies and major corporations, to football clubs and small media fi rms. Whatever type of company you want to work for, they will always need the services of an accountant.

Level 3

If you complete the Higher Apprenticeship, you can progress to full membership of the Association of Accounting Technicians. You could then complete a professional accountancy qualifi cation with a chartered body such as ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, or ICAS. Successfully completing the Higher Apprenticeship offers a fast track route onto chartered studies through exemptions from certain parts of the syllabus.

What will I gain?
A nationally recognised qualifi cation in your chosen career. (To include an NVQ L2, Key Skills L1 AON & L2 Communication, ERR)

Who is it for?
As an Apprentice you may be an accounts assistant, credit control clerk or fi nancial assistant keeping accounts for one person or a global organisation.

What will I study?
How to balance accounts, process invoices and payments, prepare VAT returns and financial statements.

How is work assessed?
You may attend college one day per week and your work will be assessed through observation and by building a portfolio of evidence.

How do I get ontothe course?
Interview required for admission onto the course, plus confirmation of full-time employment.
