Level 2

Bricklaying is one of the most widely recognised construction trades. Bricklayers use a wide range of techniques to construct walls of different types of buildings such as: schools, hospitals, shopping centres and factories. You will use brickwork and block work, and you could eventually learn how to restore old buildings or refurbish brickwork on historic buildings.

What will I gain?
A nationally recognised qualifi cation in your chosen career. (To include NVQ L2, Diploma, Level 1 Key Skills, Abrasive Wheel & ERR).

Who is it for?
An Apprentice who is learning skills using a wide range of materials and techniques to construct the walls of different types of buildings. This job is physical and you may be working at a great height.

What will I study?
How to use different skills and techniques in brickwork and block-work of all shapes and sizes & following instructions from foremen and architects. Health & Safety.

How is work assessed?
You will attend college one day a week and your work will be assessed through observation on your worksite and through building a portfolio of evidence.

What can it lead to?
Being able to work locally, nationally and possibly overseas.

How do I get onto the course?
Interview required for admission onto the course, plus confi rmation of full-time employment.
