If you are keen to become a teacher but lack the qualifications you need to get to university, this course is the perfect option to put you on the right track. Access to Higher Education courses are designed specifically to prepare mature learners for university entry. In one intensive year you will gain the qualifications you need to progress to your chosen university course and pursue a career within teaching at primary or secondary level. It will be useful if you already have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C or above. If not, you must complete these, along with science, for primary school teaching. Prior to the course you will undertake a one-to-one interview with the tutor and complete assessment days to ensure your ability meets the demands of the course.
