A group of twelve students will be the first to take their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) Award at SCCH. The DofE is the world’s leading achievement award for young people and is made up of four sections: Volunteering, skills, physical and expedition. In completing the award, learners gain new skills, develop their initiative, help others and have fun. DofE can be a life-changing adventure and is highly valued by employers, colleges and universities.
Sue Middlehurst, Principal, said ‘DofE fits very well with the College’s vision, ‘Inspiring Futures: Changing Lives’ and I hope our students gain enormously from taking part’.
There are still two places left for DofE 2010. To find out more, speak to Sports Co-ordinator Keira Chapman in Learner Services.
