Pre-Access Students took part in a sponsored walk to Bexhill and held a Variety Night at St Mary's in the Castle in December, to raise money for Sophie’s Appeal, a charity which supports the welfare of sick children and their families. Sophie’s Trust was set up by the parents of Sophie Barringer, who died of Wilm’s Disease, a form of cancer, in 2004, aged six. So far the students have raised over £1500. Performers at the Variety Night included stand up comedian, Bobby Lee, Local Bands Dead Calm and Blair with guest performer Andy Bell of Erasure.
