Land Based
Land Based Courses are based at Ore Valley.
For students who want to make a difference to the environment and wildlife habitats, the BTEC First Diploma, Level 2 in Countryside and the Environment combines college-based study with outdoor work in the Hastings Country Parks to gain practical skills.
Facilities and features
Students will have access to a range of habitat areas, including heath-land, salt marsh, traditional agricultural pasture, woodland and seashore. Practical tasks will include construction and repair of fencing, paths, steps, habitat structures, surveying. On campus, students will have access to the latest IT facilities to support their studies.
Progression routes
Career opportunities are many and varied and include ecology, agricultural work, weather reporting, game keeping, forestry, National Trust work, project management. Students can also continue their studies with a degree in Environmental Science at university.
